Internet Marketing for Small Business

As a business owner, are you finding it more difficult to get premium Internet visibility? You are with good company. Unless you are paying SEO companies top dollar to optimize your website regularly, and I mean weekly, your website ranking will suffer. That is unless your Alexa. No doubt they have no problem attracting visitors who are trying to find out where they rank on the Internet !

With over a trillion websites on the World Wide Web, we are fighting for position like we knew we would some day. Competition has become fierce in certain markets therefore business owners have had to create new ways to differentiate their company, products and services. Then, out of the blue it seems, Social Media hits the scene and adds a whole new element to the fire. Not only do we need to optimize our website and our blogs, but now we have our facebook fan page, our twitter accounts, article marketing, blah, blah, blah. Is it ever going to end?

The small business owner is worried. Very worried. Their concern, and rightfully so, is how to compete with the corporations dollar for dollar on advertising? Its not possible they think. Well, it wasn't possible until fairly recently.

A new kind of advertising company emerged a couple of years ago under the unfortunate title of network marketing company. LocalAdLink was one of the first that appeared in the market back in 2008. They couldn't shake the stigma it seems of what was viewed as the MLM way of business and sold their advertising division to another called, Zurvita. In the meantime, other companies surfaced and have picked up momentum in this arena. AdzZoo seems to be successful in both recruiting and selling and have solid financial backing. But the good news is, their products allow small businesses to appear on the front page of Google, getting top exposure for very little money.

Adlink products make even more sense when you think about how people shop. Shoppers have learned over the years, the quickest way to find what they want is to click on local sponsored adlinks. Everyone realizes that organic website listing (the main list of all websites in center of page) could be from anywhere in the world. So why waste their time? There is no doubt that SEO fees will start to decrease with an increase in automated tools and more competition. There is also no doubt that more advertising programs will enter the space giving the small business a better chance of premium advertising and exposure. And finally, there is also no doubt that the number of websites will increase exponentially in the coming years. Maybe, just maybe, a genius will think of a way to restructure the Internet so scalability is no longer an issue, but probably not in my lifetime.

Here is a video of an interview with AdzZoo back in 2009 I believe.

  2. Jeanne,
I absolutely agree. The small business owner needs to find a way to get their name out there and the internet is now the way. As B.C. Forbes would say "If you don't drive your business, you will be driven out of business."
